What a wonderful, albeit unexpected, post! I would say based on the recent riots around the world (including in some supposed ‘civilized’ countries such as England and Greece) the vast inequalities are starting to boil up into unrest. Did you see the recent Merrill lynch report that the wealth of the world’s rich is right back to where it was before the recession and growing? Sickening. What people like that fail to see is that when inequality is that vast, they hurt themselves by throwing community out the window. It’s like when I used to live in Greater Detroit and 8 mile road divided some of the poorest and richest areas in the area. Well, the poorer people would get on their bikes (couldn’t afford cars), ride over to the rich neighborhood to steal something, and bike on home. Like dangling a car in front of someone’s nose and saying ‘nah nah nah nah’. Viva la Revolution. Hopefully a silent and diplomatic one.
